At Christ Point, we believe baptism is a response of obedience to faith in Jesus. It is a way we remember and celebrate the work of God in our lives. If you’re interested in finding out more about baptism or would like to be baptized we encourage you to attend this two-week class on Sunday, March 4th and 11th at 9:00 am.

For those attending the class who wish to be baptized baptisms will be part of our worship service on Easter Sunday, April 1st.

GONE Weekend – March 17th & 18th

The gospel is not only good news to be believed with the mind but to be lived out—the gospel has hands and feet. At Christ Point, we believe God has called us to be intentional about meeting immediate practical needs with the ultimate goal of meeting eternal spiritual needs. We do this both in a local and global sense for the sake of His name.

On Sunday, March 18th, Christ Point will be bringing Christ’s love to our home base, the West Cabarrus Y. Much as we do for the Cabarrus Women’s Center and Main Street Mission, our teams will work around the building and property providing much-needed facility support.

To prepare our hearts and come together as a church before our mission on Sunday morning, we encourage you to sign up for a Neighborhood Dinner the evening before on Saturday, March 17th.  At these dinners, we gather in homes to share fellowship, a meal and prayer for our work the following day.  Pastor James makes a cameo appearance via video to encourage us with about a 10-minute reminder of why we do what we do during these GONE Sundays.

So… grab your calendar, circle the dates and click on the links below to sign up for BOTH the Saturday Neighborhood Dinner of your choice and ALSO a work shift for the Sunday morning project at Main Street Mission of China Grove. Ren will provide breakfast for the early shifts and lunch for the later shift.  Childcare will also be provided onsite.

Have you ever wondered why someone that is unable to pay their power bill owns a bigger screened TV than you?

Have you ever asked yourself why someone in poverty continues to have children when they can not care for the ones they have?

Have you ever thought, “Why don’t they just get a job”?

Then Bridge Builders Training is for you.

The Bridge Builder’s training is meant to do exactly that; to build bridges of understanding between all economic classes.

As Christ Point church seeks to “Go and Share” in mission the love of Christ with others we know that it begins with a relationship.  A relationship first and foremost with Jesus Christ and then with others both locally and globally.  The challenge of this is when we build relationships with people of a different economic class and we lack full understanding of those we seek to serve.  Whether we realize it or not we have certain mental models that we bring from childhood about the “hidden rules” of life.  This training allows you to not only better understand your own mental models, but to also understand the hidden rules of those living in poverty.  This allows us to see with more compassionate eyes so that we may build genuine relationships that help without hurting.

Following the six-week course, you will have the opportunity to serve the community alongside Main Street Mission as they set up mentor programs to help us put our learning into practice by building relationships and lending a hand.  Participation in this mentor program is purely optional, but does allow those who wish to take the next step to do so.

Ren’s Go Team is inviting you to join us Sunday mornings at 9am for six weeks beginning March 11.  Sign Up Here!
