GONE = Good of Our Neighbor Event

The gospel is not only good news to be believed with the mind but to be lived out—the gospel has hands and feet. At Christ Point, we believe God has called us to be intentional about meeting immediate practical needs with the ultimate goal of meeting eternal spiritual needs. We do this both in a local and global sense for the sake of His name.

On Sunday, July 30th, Christ Point will be taking Christ’s love to the streets of China Grove.  Main Street Mission of China Grove helps those in need in southern Rowan County by providing supplemental food assistance, informing and educating the community and those in need and providing other services that address the changing needs of the community. Much as we do for the Cabarrus Women’s Center, our teams will go in and work around the building and property providing much-needed facility support.

To prepare our hearts and come together as a church before our mission on Sunday morning, we encourage you to sign up for a Neighborhood Dinner the evening before on Saturday, July 29th.  At these dinners, we gather in homes to share fellowship, a meal and prayer for our work the following day.  Pastor James makes a cameo appearance via video to encourage us with about a 10-minute reminder of why we do what we do during these GONE Sundays.

So… grab your calendar, circle the dates and click on the links below to sign up for BOTH the Saturday Neighborhood Dinner of your choice and ALSO a work shift for the Sunday morning project at Main Street Mission of China Grove. Ren will provide breakfast for the early shifts and lunch for the later shift.  Childcare will also be provided onsite.

The NEST would like to bless our growing families the next few weeks at Ren by building a “Diapers and Wipes” basket for each of our “Soon To Be” Moms. If you would like to participate, please bring in diapers, wipes, or gift cards to church over the next few Sundays. There will be a basket near the gym doors for you to leave your gifts. We will be collecting through the month of July.

RenMen’s Summer Cookout is Sunday, July 23rd from 5-7 p.m. at the LeJeune’s house (2104 Norwich Ct, Kannapolis, NC 28081). Men, mark your calendars and prepare for great food, an old-fashioned backyard croquet clash and more!

On July 8th, a team from Christ Point will have the honor of traveling back to Honduras with Children’s Impact Network to visit an orphanage & share the gospel with children in local villages.

We’d like to invite you to partner with us in 2 ways. FIRST, we covet your prayers. Someone once said that prayer is sending influence to places you may never see. SECONDLY, we’d also like you to prayerfully consider giving financially. Each team member is raising $1,600 to cover the cost of airfare, lodging, food & materials.

You may make a tax-deductible donation in one of two ways:

Thank you for partnering with us as we GO!
